The Gospel is...
Titus 2:11. “For the grace of God has appeared with salvation for all people,”
The Gospel, or Good News, is the great truth that God has reconciled humanity to Himself through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Your every wrong act, lie, theft, cruel thought, or even just living indifferent to God has been forgiven and paid in full.
Titus 2:14. “He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people for His own possession, eager to do good works.”
Free but not cheap. This priceless gift from God, undeserved and unearned, came at the expense of the great suffering and humiliation of Jesus. His death on the cross, the cost of a perfect life, was given for you. An unpayable debt paid for with unimaginable love.
John 1:12 "But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name,"
An offer calls for a response. The Bible reveals that everyone is responsible for their reply to God's good news. Those who take Him at His word, being freed from guilt and shame, can live lives marked by God's peace and genuine joy. Also, by living according to God's design for us we grow healthy in our relationship with Him and with others. When we respond to the gospel we point others to the good news of forgiveness in Jesus.
What's your response? We'd love to hear from you about it.
