Greetings and welcome to HopeCC's worship playlist!
One element of worship that’s especially important to us at Hope is variety. We see the value of people singing together in different ways, seasons, and using different songs. We see different leaders and different churches all glorifying God as best they can.
This list is nowhere near every song we do as a church. These are some of our all-time favorites, with a special focus on lyrics that have a width of understanding of the gospel.
Revelation chapters 1-2 are written to seven different churches, each with vastly diverse successes and struggles. Revelation 5:13 paints a picture of gathered, varied worship in a beautiful way:
I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say “Blessing and honor and glory and dominion to the One seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!”
What you’ll find at Hope is a commitment to hear from many different voices and perspectives as we lift up our own voices in praise of God. Our song list is inspired by a whole host of different artists. We have over a dozen capable individuals who lead songs vocally from week to week.
This is really important to me, personally. I think it’s far too easy these days to get caught up following the most popular church/band, and to buy into a celebrity type culture in our music and production. As far as I know, Rend Collective, Matt Maher, Elevation Worship and Citizens have never met each other. They definitely come from four different denominations and have very different church backgrounds. But when it comes to singing about what Jesus has done, a great song is a great song. So I go out, I find them, pilfer them, and bring them to us at Hope.
