When the Apostle Paul was about to become a martyr, he wrote a letter to Pastor Timothy in Ephesus. It’s very evident that Paul was deeply concerned about the ministry of the Word. He challenged Timothy to always be prepared to preach, even when it wasn’t easy or convenient. We can use Paul’s exhortation to Timothy as an example of the priority of preaching for our pastoral leadership. Let’s ask God to keep all of our leaders – and especially our pastors – grounded in the Bible so that they will feed us the deep truths of Scripture that we all need to effectively follow Christ.
