Our church includes people from all backgrounds and in all stages of life, from newly married, young families, as well as those who have been part of HCC for decades. Regardless of your demographic, we want to help you get connected in meaningful relationships here at HCC.

Sunday Mornings

WORSHIP SERVICE | 10:30-11:45 AM

Every Sunday, the members of Hope Community Church (HCC) gather from throughout Thurston County to remember the good news about who Jesus is and what he has done for his people. Central to every service is the preaching of the Word of God, as the HCC pastors take the congregation expositionally through books of the Bible. In addition to the preached Word is the celebration of the ordinances (baptism and the Lord’s Supper), worship in song, prayer, reading of Scripture, and fellowship with one another. We desire for our worship service to be marked by joy, warmth, and a love for God’s Word. As those who have been redeemed by God’s grace shown in Jesus Christ, we desire to publicly glorify God in meeting every week.

Sunday Evenings

PRAYER AND PRAISE SERVICE | 6:00-7:00 PM (FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH)

On the Sundays when we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, we gather for a corporate prayer and praise service. We spend extra time singing and praying corporately. We also have a brief amount of time set aside for a shorter and more applicable message. There is a dessert potluck that follows each of our prayer and praise services.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT ARE SUNDAY SERVICES LIKE?

We desire for our worship service to be both accessible and reverent. Our service lasts approximately 85 minutes and includes various elements of worship that you would find at other protestant churches. We love singing songs that blend old hymns and contemporary songs, all declaring the truth of who God is and what He has done. While we have a variety of musicians and vocalists assisting us, we desire that the main “instrument” of our singing is the congregation, as we lift our voices together in worship to our great God. You can find a list of the songs we sing here

WHAT ARE THE ORDINANCES?

The first Sunday every month, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper at the conclusion of our service. In partaking of the bread and the cup, we remember how our Lord gave His body and blood for our salvation, and has united us together into one body. Likewise, as we have the opportunity, we also celebrate the ordinance of Baptism at the conclusion of our service. As those being baptized profess their faith, we are able to observe this wonderful picture of a Christian’s union with Christ, as we are symbolically buried with Him in death, and raised with Him to new life.

HOW CAN I GET TO BETTER KNOW THE CHURCH?

Every Sunday from 10:00 to 10:30 am, we have deliberate time for fellowship where we enjoy good coffee, snacks, and each other’s company. After the service, we hope you will stick around and give us a chance to get to know you. Our members enjoy staying to talk with visitors and catching up with friends, so feel free to introduce yourself to someone nearby. Three times a year, we offer a newcomer’s lunch where you can chat more freely with pastors and other church staff.

HOW DO CHILDREN PARTICIPATE ON SUNDAY MORNING?

Children of all ages are welcome in corporate worship. During the service, we offer classes for infants through three-year-olds. We also offer classes during the sermon for those aged four to eleven. There is a note in our bulletin each week of when the kids are dismissed for their classes.

If you’re visiting with us for the first time, our electronic check-in system for all ages is in the lobby before you enter our children’s ministry wing. Please stop by a few minutes early to sign in and print security tags for any children attending class during the service. Please allow extra time to gather important information about each child and locate classrooms. A volunteer will be able to assist you. Learn more about children’s ministry here.

WHAT ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE?

We strive to make our church welcoming and accessible for everyone. Accessibility services available include our Disability Ministry for support and inclusion, AudioFetch assistive listening technology for those with hearing challenges, and a lift to help individuals with mobility needs access different areas of the building. If you have additional accessibility needs, please let us know—we would be happy to assist you.

DO I NEED TO DRESS UP?

Absolutely not! We aim to be a very relaxed environment. You will find our community ranges every week from suits and dresses to jeans and flip-flops. In light of the gospel, all are welcome.
